The Department of Housing, International Affairs, Social Affairs and Nutrition deals with everything that is part of student life besides simply studying. This includes the topics of student financing, especially BAföG, anti-discrimination, the concerns of foreign students, LGBTQ+ rights, the rights of HiWis and part-time workers in general, studying with children, and much more.
The department can provide information, for example on the destigmatization of psychosocial problems or how to finance your studies. It can work on current issues, for example helping refugees from Ukraine.
The head of department is also a contact person for students with their concerns, but also for the International Office, for example.
If there are problems in everyday student life and the general conditions of studying at the HSZG, the WISE department can pass these on to the Rectorate and stand up for students' rights.
The planning and implementation of content-related or social events is another possible task of the department. Overall, there is a great deal of freedom for the department to set its own individual priorities and structure.
